Becoming the Woman I Needed — Healing Isn’t Always Easy

Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about healing, self-love, and finding myself. And while there is calm… while there is faith… while there are moments of peace… I’ve also realised something very real. Healing is not easy. Even when you’re doing everything “right” — taking care of yourself, going out, buying things you need, trying to feel better… there are still moments where you feel unsure. I’ve had days where I questioned myself. Where I doubted my choices. Where I felt overwhelmed for no clear reason. Where even small decisions made me feel underconfident. And it made me realise — Just because you are healing doesn’t mean everything suddenly feels perfect. It doesn’t mean you wake up feeling confident every day. It doesn’t mean self-love removes all fear overnight. Healing is slow. It’s a process of becoming. And in that process… there will be moments of joy and moments of doubt. But that doesn’t mean you stop. That doesn’t mean you stop enjoying the small things. Because those small things — the walks, the tea, the laughter, the quiet moments… they still matter. They are still part of your healing. Even if your mind is still catching up. Because the truth is… when you are trying to come back to yourself after losing yourself for so long… it feels unfamiliar. You feel jittery. You feel unsure. You question everything. Because this version of you… is new. And new things always feel uncomfortable at first. I’m still scared sometimes. I still feel anxious trying new things. I still don’t fully know who I’m becoming. And finding your way back to who you were before everything changed… is not easy. But I hold onto one thing — Faith. That God is guiding me. Protecting me. Healing me… even when I don’t realise it. That slowly, step by step… I am being led to where I’m meant to be. And I believe this — One day, things will shift. One day, I won’t doubt myself the same way. I will know my worth. I won’t overthink every decision. I will feel confident… free… light. So much so that I might even ask myself — Is this really me? And maybe it will be. A newer version of me. A stronger, calmer, more confident version. And until that day comes… I will keep moving. I will keep choosing myself. I will keep loving myself — even on the hard days. Because healing yourself is the most powerful thing you can do. It’s like being born again. Seeing life differently. Feeling differently. Becoming someone new… while still being you. So don’t stop. Do what you love. Go out. Laugh. Make choices without guilt. Even if your mind questions it. Because slowly… you will meet that version of you again — The one who was carefree. The one who didn’t feel scared. The one who simply lived. And maybe… that is what healing is. Meeting yourself again… for the first time.
