Becoming the Woman I Needed — I Don’t Explain Myself Like I Used To 🌿

Lately, I’ve noticed something about myself… I don’t explain myself like I used to. I don’t feel the need to justify every decision, every choice, every little thing I do. And yet… there are moments where I still feel scared to speak. As if I’m doing something wrong. As if choosing myself needs permission. And that feeling… it’s hard to ignore. Because for years, I’ve only done what was expected. Responsibilities. Duties. Showing up for everyone else. So now… when I feel this urge to do something for myself… it feels unfamiliar. Almost scary. I see so many people doing things for themselves — following their interests, taking risks, choosing their happiness… And sometimes… I step back. Not because I don’t want it. But because I’m scared. Scared of stepping out. Scared of doing something different. Scared of not knowing what comes next. But deep down… I know this isn’t where my story ends. I know there will come a time when I will feel so confident in what I do… that I’ll look back and think — Was that really me? The one who was scared. The one who doubted herself. The one who kept holding back. Until then… I’m still finding myself. That girl who had dreams. Who wanted to do something meaningful. Who wanted to help others… but not at the cost of her own happiness. That carefree version of me… who somehow got lost along the way. And maybe… this phase is about finding her again. Even if right now I feel underconfident. Even if I still hesitate. I believe… God is guiding me through this. Even when I don’t understand it. Maybe He is shaping me. Preparing me. Moulding me into something better… until I am ready to take charge of my own life. And for now… I’m okay with going slow. Because I’ve started to enjoy something I once ignored — my own company. Sitting with myself. Thinking. Taking care of myself. Loving myself. Rediscovering who I am… without the noise of expectations. This healing is slow. But it feels right. There is a calmness in me now. I’m not stressing the way I used to. I’m not overthinking everything. I’m not reacting to everything around me. It’s just me… with myself. And maybe… that’s where everything truly begins. Not in rushing. Not in proving. But in quietly becoming. At my own pace. With faith. With patience. And with the belief that one day… I will become the version of myself I’ve always been meant to be 🌿
