Becoming the Woman I Needed — Healing Through Small Moments

Today felt beautiful. Not because something extraordinary happened… but because of the little moments. It was Mother’s Day. And for the first time in a long time… I truly allowed myself to feel it. My kids made breakfast for me, gave me gifts, hugged me with so much love… and in that moment I felt special. Loved. Blessed. And I realised something — sometimes the biggest healing in life comes through the smallest joys. Not grand achievements. Not huge answers. Just moments that quietly touch your heart. Moments that remind you that you are loved. And maybe… this is what healing actually looks like. Not becoming a completely different person. But slowly returning to yourself. Yesterday I went out and saw something I liked. And for once… I picked it without overthinking. Without calling someone. Without asking for validation. Without feeling guilty. And honestly… that felt huge for me. Because I’m slowly learning to trust my own decisions again. After years of responsibilities, expectations, thinking about everyone else first… I’m finally listening to myself too. And I think that matters. I don’t need permission for every little thing anymore. I am capable. I can make decisions. And maybe this healing journey is teaching me that slowly. I feel like I’m meeting the girl I was before life became so heavy. Before marriage. Before responsibilities. Before overthinking everything. That carefree girl still exists somewhere inside me. And little by little… I’m finding her again. Through simple things. Coffee runs. Shopping. Laughing with friends. Doing things I enjoy. Even these small moments of joy… are healing. Of course… I still feel anxiety sometimes. I still get nervous. I still second-guess myself occasionally. But now… I try not to stay there too long. I try to choose myself. To trust myself. To listen to my own heart more. And honestly… I’ve also reached a phase where people’s opinions don’t affect me the same way anymore. There will always be someone ready to judge you. Even as a mother. Someone may think you’re doing something wrong. Like giving your child chocolate. But I’ve realised something — people will always have opinions. And I cannot live my life trying to fit into everyone’s idea of what is “right.” I know my love for my children. I know my intentions. And that is enough. I cannot change people’s thinking. And maybe… I don’t need to. Now… I just want to live peacefully. Love myself fully. Enjoy my children. Enjoy my life. And trust that God is guiding me exactly where I need to be. Because lately… I feel His blessings in small moments. And somehow… those small moments feel bigger than anything else. So I’ll keep moving forward. With faith. With hope. With peace in my heart. One small beautiful moment at a time 🌿
